BIO

John L. Ammons is a native of Haywood County, North Carolina and returned to the mountains to practice law in his hometown of Waynesville.  He graduated from Tuscola High School in 2000 and Wake Forest University in 2004.  He graduated from Georgia State University College of Law in 2007.

Mr. Ammons has practiced law in Western North Carolina since 2007.  His practice has been predominantly in the areas of civil litigation, social security disability, criminal defense and family law.  Mr. Ammons practices in the Magistrate, District and Superior Court Divisions of North Carolina State Court and is admitted to practice in United States District Court in the Western District of North Carolina as well as Cherokee Tribal Court.

Mr. Ammons is active in civil, religious, and professional organizations.  Among other activities, he is a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Waynesville and is active with the Young Professionals of the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce.
